Earlier tonight, the Whisky a Go Go shut out its lights for 10 minutes in honor of Ray Mazarek.

As many of you know, Ray Manzarek of The Doors died today. He really was a great musician. I don’t think rock music has seen a keyboardist like him before or since. There certainly have been some great ones, but no one quite like him. He had this unique combination of technique, style, originality, and edginess that still impresses.
